Weather warning for parts of Metro Vancouver calls for up to 50 mm of rain

Expect the heavy showers to continue across Metro Vancouver — at least, until Friday evening.

Environment Canada has carried over Thursday’s rainfall warning, the result of a moist Pacific frontal system that’s moving over the south coast.

The following areas are in effect:

• North Shore – including West Vancouver and North Vancouver

Regions of northern Metro Vancouver are expected to receive the most rain, with up to 50 mm expected.

Fortunately, conditions are expected to improve by early Friday evening.

Until then, drivers are advised to lower their speeds, use their lights, and maintain a safe following distance.
