Are you happy with your current job? Do you look forward to going into work, or absolutely dread it?
(Don’t answer that one in front of your boss.)
Here’s the thing: You don’t have to stay where you are.
Of course, the initial thought of change is something that’s bound to make you nervous. But you can get over that. It’s your future we’re talking about here, and there’s no reason for you not to be living your best life (with the income to match).
You could be just an MBA (Master of Business Administration) away from your dream job. It’s never too late to go back to school, and when you channel your inner Harry Potter and choose your subjects wisely, you could have any of the following careers.
Oh, there’s one thing you should know before we start. The average mid-career pay for all MBAs (regardless of specialty) is $99,587, according to PayScale.
If you specialize in strategy, you could go on to work as a management consultant. Once you can think outside of the box and put your company’s needs first, you can apply management theories learned during your MBA to your job. Jobs and career site Monster reports this MBA career to have a salary of $123,000.

Love numbers? If you’re technical-minded, a career as a finance manager could be exactly the change you need. Portfolio managers and financial managers often have an MBA behind them, and if you follow this career path as a finance manager, you could be earning a salary of $112,000.
