JuJu’s Drink Shack to launch inside Published on Main this week

We can’t be on vacation at the moment — but that’s ok — because a tiki bar pop-up is launching in Vancouver this week, and that’s basically like going on a trip at this point, right?

It’s called JuJu’s Drink Shack, and it’s opening inside much-loved Main Street eatery Published on Main.

The tiki bar-inspired spot is keeping things simple for now, as JuJu’s has been in the making for over a year and is currently looking for a permanent location to move into eventually.

The new takeout and delivery spot will be open for business Wednesday at 3593 Main Street. And trust us, you’re going to want to try these rum-based cocktail kits and pan-Asian dishes.

When it comes to beverages, customers can expect six quintessential tiki cocktail kits in partnership with Flor de Cana rum. Mixes and rum can be purchased individually too, but these kits sound a bit too good to pass up.

Piña Coladas, Mai Tais, Hurricanes, Painkillers, Navy Grogs, and ‘Tropic Thunders’ are a few of the full-loaded kits you can enjoy. Each pack will come with mixes, rum, crushed ice, and even garnishes.

“Tiki bars started popping up in North American as a type of escapism during wartimes and the Great Depression, as many couldn’t afford international travel,” says Cody Allmin, co-owner of Published on Main.

“The drinks were influenced by different tropical island cultures and usually always rum-based. Back then, food was more of an afterthought, but for us, we want our food program to be equally as provocative as the cocktails.”

When it comes to grub, Chef Gus Stieffenhofer-Brandson has concocted a delightful lineup of pan-Asian eats.

Coconut Prawns, Chilled Udon Gomae, Scallop Crudo, Sticky Pork Belly, and Crispy Squid are all highlights that will be up for order.

These dishes will rotate, and JuJu’s actually wants the public to chime in and share what they’d like to see on the menu too.

Once it’s officially open, JuJu’s drinks and food will be available for both pick-up and delivery on Tock or delivery via DoorDash on May 6.
