As the torch moves into the Lower Mainland in a couple of weeks to exuberate (is that a word?) positive energy into locals and kick off the greatest party of the year, many people intend on supplying negativity and spoiling the big bash. This is the dark side to the Games…
They come from very diverse parts of BC, and intend on sending messages about their very diverse causes. However, their messages are poised to become discombobulated, accomplishing absolutely nothing. They’ll be classified into one package, as a nuisance, as nobody will understand what the varying causes are. Their plan is to clog up streets, making it even more annoying to travel around. What will this accomplish? Again, their message will incite hatred towards them and no one will give a damn what they want at the end of the day.
To the APC, specifically, I would say get off your lazy ass and go get a job. There are plenty out there and this would solve most of your problems.
For the rest, don’t be party-poopers. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, to either tarnish the reputation of your home and look like an idiot doing so, or to lighten up, have fun, and represent yourself with class and offer proud Canadian hospitality.
