In memory of music icon Prince, Vancouver’s Rio Theatre is hosting a rare screening of Sign o’ The Times, the high-octane concert film written and directed by the man himself.
The film, which was released alongside Prince’s double album of the same name, was shot with an audience at the Rotterdam Music Hall in 1987.
Fans of Prince’s wildly innovative theatricality and extra high-energy performances will love this movie, which brings out his audacious and uniquely funky personality.
Meanwhile, the 13-song set list focuses more on deep cuts from the album, like Little Red Corvette, If I Was Your Girlfriend and Hot Thing, than his greatest hits.
A rare chance to see a hidden gem, which has never had a widespread DVD or Blu-Ray release and isn’t available to stream anywhere.
