Prince Harry says he's actually a Toronto Blue Jays fan after 'hat gate' at the World Series
Prince Harry has apologized to Canada after creating an international incident of sorts during the World Series.
As the son of the King of Canada, fans north of the border weren’t impressed with seeing him support an American team rather than the Toronto Blue Jays. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle each wore Los Angeles Dodgers gear when they attended Game 4 at Dodger Stadium in L.A.
Markle, who is from Los Angeles, can be excused. But Harry?
The Duke of Sussex apologized but also had some fun with the question he was asked in a television interview with CTV.
“Oh, the LA Dodgers hat. Hat gate,” Harry said.
“Well, firstly, I would like to apologize to Canada for wearing it. Secondly, I was under duress. There wasn’t much choice.”
Harry explained that he was invited to the game by the Dodgers owner.
“I was doing what I thought was the polite thing to do.”
He also joked that his thinning hairline was a reason for the cap.
“When you’re missing a lot of hair on top and you’re sitting under floodlights, you’ll take any hat that’s available.”
Harry went on to claim that he was actually cheering for the Blue Jays, and even put on a Blue Jays cap on camera.

“I’m going to wear this [Blue Jays cap] from now on to make sure I don’t make any more of those mistakes… Game 5, Game 6, Game 7, I was Blue Jays throughout. Now that I’ve admitted that, it’s going to be really hard to return to Los Angeles.”
“I’m very sorry to the Canadian public. Devastated that the Blue Jays lost. Go Jays.”
