Prince George to host Canucks training camp

Dec 19 2017, 11:17 pm

The Vancouver Canucks will hold their training camp in Northern British Columbia for the first time. Today, Trevor Linden announced that Prince George will host Canucks training camp from September 17-20.

The CN Centre, home of the WHL’s Prince George Cougars, is where the on-ice sessions will take place. Practices will be open to the public.

The Canucks held training camp in Whistler last season and often move their camp around BC. Prince George was likely a natural choice given that Canucks defenceman Dan Hamhuis is a part owner of the Cougars.

The Canucks will hold a prospects development camp in Shawnigan Lake from July 3-9. The Young Stars tournament will once again be held in Penticton from September 11-14 and the Kraft Hockeyville preseason game will be in North Saanich on September 21.
