Off Key Improv presents Love Musically, an entirely improvised musical tribute to the heart-warming holiday film, Love Actually. You’ll laugh, maybe you’ll even cry but the one thing that’s guaranteed is that this improvised musical will be sure to put you in the holiday spirit.

Off Key Improv has been entertaining Vancouver audiences with their musical improv since 2012, directed by Jennifer Pielak and Peter Abando. Each show is a brand new, organic and in the moment musical creation by the group of local improvisers. If you thought improv was difficult, imagine adding music. Yet, Off Key Improv makes it look effortless and even makes you question why musicals take so long to be written in the first place, if this amazing Vancouver-based group can do it without a second thought.

Pulling inspiration from the holiday film, Love Actually, Off Key Improv created Love Musically. The songs, story and even lighting will never be the same. This is a completely improvised show, top to bottom. Every night, the cast collects real life audience stories and draws inspiration from them to create a hilarious, heart-warming improvised musical from scratch. No-one knows what’s going to happen, but that’s just half the fun.

Unfortunately, this show isn’t guaranteed appropriate for all audiences, since, because the show is improvised every evening, there’s no telling what adult themes might come up.

Love Musically is the perfect musical improv show to put you right in the mood for the holidays. Whether you need a few laughs to warm up or just a distraction from the stress of Christmas shopping, Love Musically is the show for you.

Off Key Improv presents Love Musically runs from December 16 – 20 at Studio 1398 (1398 Cartwright Street, Granville Island, Vancouver). Tickets are $18.
