Pop sensation Melanie Martinez announces Vancouver show

New York singer-songwriter, actress, and director, Melanie Martinez, is officially coming to Vancouver this summer.

The 24-year-old “Dollhouse” singer has announced a show at the Orpheum Theatre on Wednesday, July 22 during her upcoming North American tour, The K-12 Tour.

Martinez is set to perform her first concert of the tour in Anaheim, California, followed by shows in Las Vegas, Denver, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Chicago, Cleveland, Toronto, Montreal, and Washington, DC, among a host of other US cities.

In 2012, the star rose to fame after appearing on the American reality TV competition, The Voice. Since then, her career has taken her on a journey of self-discovery and creativity.

Her debut album, Cry Baby, and its 13 self-directed surrealist music videos have seen her garner more than seven million YouTube subscribers. The album also reached platinum status, with multiple songs certified gold.

In September 2019, Martinez released her own 90-minute narrative feature film called K-12 which was filmed in Budapest, Hungary. You guessed it — she wrote the script and directed the movie herself.
