Police in Surrey are investigating a late night double stabbing in the North Surrey area.

According to a release, at about 10:16 p.m. on Sunday, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of the 11300 block of Surrey Road.

When officers arrived to the scene, they found a 62-year-old male and a 30-year-old female with injuries consistent with stab wounds. Both victims were brought to a hospital in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

“Initial investigation has revealed that an altercation occurred between the two victims and another individual resulting in the stabbing,” reads a statement by RCMP. “Officers conducted neighbourhood canvassing and spoke with several witnesses to obtain further information.”

Police believe the parties involved in the altercation knew each other. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers’ anonymous hotline at 1-800-222-8477.
