North Vancouver RCMP say the situation has now been resolved.
According to police, “officers were dealing with a distraught man in the 100-block of East 23 Avenue.”
They noted that the situation was resolved peacefully, and one man was apprehended as a result of the incident.
Although the situation has now been resolved, RCMP said police will remain in the area for the time being while the investigation continues.
While North Vancouver RCMP haven’t said anything yet, 23rd Street is being reported blocked both ways from Lonsdale to St. Andrews Avenue.
Details are slim at this point, but those in the affected area are saying buildings have been put on lockdown.
We are on lockdown in the community centre.
