Fright Nights returns with new rides and haunted houses

Dec 20 2017, 1:32 am

Be prepared to get scared at the largest and spookiest Halloween event for grown-ups in Western Canada. Fright Nights at Playland returns for another year on October 9 with seven terrifying haunted houses and 15 rides that will leave you trembling.

Tickets officially go on sale today, September 21.

A new addition to the ride roster this year is The Beast, a ride on a pendulum arm that swings guests 120 degrees while guests are spun 360 degrees in their seats. Make sure you have a strong stomach, since it reaches speeds of more than 90 km/h and heights of over 125 feet.

Enjoy an old-style “freak show” as the Monsters of Schlock return for some pretty cringe-worthy entertainment.

Ticket prices vary depending on the day you choose to go and you must purchase tickets for a specific day due to overwhelming demand. It’s worth noting that guests can save three dollars by purchasing tickets at a 7-11 or online.

With your ticket purchase, you get access to the seven haunted houses, including beloved favourites Darkness and Keeper’s Doll Factory and all 15 rides. For the first time, guests can be enthralled by the Radiant Heat Fire Troupe, whose fire shows will leave you speechless.

Don’t forget, you can still enjoy old favourites like the Wooden Roller Coaster, Music Express and Hellevator.
