You may remember Playboy Energy Drink Canada from being runner up in both the ‘Must Follow of 2013’ and ‘Best Social Media Campaign of 2012’ categories at the Vancouver Social Media awards which Vancity Buzz was part of, or from the bus ads or Mini Fiats you see driving around Vancouver. They are back at it again with their interactive social media outlets. This time they’re running an #InstagramArtContest which is heavily Vancouver based and rewarding submissions with giveaways up to and including an iPad mini!
Hello Vancouver, this is Playboy Energy Drink, Arts and Music blogger, Honey looking for any of you involved in arts communities out there. There is an Art Challenge going on in this city and we want you involved! We are looking to celebrate local Vancouver artists this summer via the photo App everyone knows best, Instagram. Instagram is often used for taking snap shots of memorable moments to share with your friends BUT an increasing number of artists are also using it as a platform to have work seen, promote bands, market fashion lines, documented travels etc…
The contest has already been open for a week and there are only four more to go so please don’t sleep on the opportunity to be a part of what we’re doing. Some of the submissions that have already come in are incredible and we can’t wait to see more of what our local art scene has to offer. Let’s see this city come to life!
The contest is simple, whether you’re into photography, iPhoneography, dance, graffiti, comedy, theatre, music, sculpting, paint, film, modelling, design or just plain creative we want to see what you are up to. The photos can be amateur or professional, there are no rules as long as the work you are showing is original. If you are in the Performing Arts get your friends to snap shots of what it is you do! If your art hangs on the wall or stacks up in your studio, pull it out and take some shots and put them up – there are no limitations!
You need to choose your favourite 10 submissions (or instagram some new ones) and comment on EACH of those 10 photos: @chrstnemchelle @PlayboyEnergyCA #PBEartchallenge
We are going to narrow it down to 9 albums and then let our fans vote online. ALL 9 artists will be featured in our Digital Art Gallery on August 29th at our End Of The Summer Instagram Party, Fueled by Playboy Energy Drink Canada. The top 3 will receive an iPad mini, two tickets to our End Of Summer Party AND have their story written (by me, Honey) with your original photos published on playboyenergydrink.ca.
