11 places to explore along the SkyTrain's Evergreen Extension

The SkyTrain Evergreen Extension is finally set to open on December 2. The 11 km of new SkyTrain track and six new stations will expand the Lower Mainland transit system into Burquitlam, Port Moody, and Coquitlam.

The Evergreen Extension will open up a range of activities for those living in Metro Vancouver. So why not explore what the Tri-Cities have to offer?

Here are 11 places worth checking out along the Evergreen Extension.

Burquitlam Station

Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex

Take a short bus ride on Route 156 and this station will take you Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex, where you can skate, swim, or try your hand at a fitness class.

Mundy Park

Need a new trail to explore? The 156 bus route also connects to Mundy Park. Adventure through 400 acres of coastal rainforest, including over 16 km of trails.

Moody Centre Station

Rocky Point Park

One of the best-known sites in Port Moody, Rocky Point Park is the perfect place to bike, hike, kyack, or go for a picnic. You can get here within walking distance from Moody Centre Station, or alternatively Inlet Centre Station.

Step back in time at the Port Moody Station Museum, Located in Port Moody’s 1908 CPR Station, this heritage museum showcases the early development of the city.

Inlet Centre Station

From Inlet Centre Station, you can also access Rocky Point Park ( a 24-minute walk or 11-minute bus ride on the C25 Bus) and Port Moody Station Museum (a 24-minute walk or a 13-minute bus ride on the C25)

Coquitlam Central Station

Take a walk on the wild side at DeBoville Slough, accessible by the C38 bus from Coquitlam Central Station. DeBoville is a popular spot for walkers, runners, and bike riders and it features amazing views looking up the Pitt River Valley.
