The City of Surrey made history this past Sunday by hosting their first-ever Pride parade.
People turned up in droves to celebrate the diversity of the LGBTQ community. With a “green” mission in mind – that is, no floats or vehicles of any kind – members of the LGBTQ community, along with their allies, marched the streets of Surrey to Holland Park where festivities took place.
In case you missed the historic moment, here are 16 photos of Surrey’s first Pride parade.
#surrey had its very first #prideparade today – it was short but sweet! It might’ve lasted 10 minutes if the groups had been a bit more spread out, but it was closer to 6 minutes with everyone bunched together. I like that these drummers were the second from the front, I just wish they’d been leading the parade. #policeoutofpride #oratleastnotfrontandcentre #surreypride
