Phew! Starbucks brings back Gingerbread Latte after public outcry

Your holiday season has been saved: Starbucks Canada has quickly heeded the cries of angry customers on the West Coast, and will bring back the Gingerbread Latte once more.

This year, Starbucks Canada launched their traditional red cup holiday beverages with a bit of a disappointing twist. The Egg Nog Latte wasn’t going to be served east of Manitoba, while the west wasn’t going to get the Gingerbread Latte.

Sure, there will be Peppermint Mochas, Caramel Brulee Lattes, and the new Chestnut Praline Lattes, but devotees of the Egg Nog in the East and Gingerbread in the West took to social media to voice their emphatic displeasure their beloved beverages were being left out.

Today Starbucks Canada said they’ve listened and will be serving up all the drinks in all the provinces.

They write on their blog:

This week you lit MSI up and let us know through email, tweets, and phone calls that these drinks, served up in the iconic red Starbucks cup, are an indispensable part of your holiday traditions. These messages were emotional, personal. They told of times connecting with loved ones over an Eggnog Latte, how the Eggnog Latte became a tradition. We’re honored you care so much—and chagrined we risked dimming your holiday brightness, even a little.

Starbucks Canada doesn’t have a date yet for when they intend to have the Gingerbread Latte supplies shipped out and ready to brew in B.C., but it’s in the works and will probably be within a couple of weeks.
