Petition to bring the NBA back to Vancouver

Dec 19 2017, 3:07 pm

There is a void in Vancouver and that void is the Vancouver Grizzlies. Many individuals will dismiss it because they simply don’t care for the NBA, however, thousands of people do, especially those who grew up in the 1990’s and are now making decent money in the real world. An online petition has been set up to bring the NBA back to Vancouver.

Now, I know what most of you are thinking, an online petition will do little to bring the NBA back to Vancouver. However, if this petition was to garner a huge response, it would at least indicate the level of passion sports fans have in the city. For that reason alone it would be interesting to see the reaction.

It’s only a matter of time before the NBA does come back to Vancouver. The reasons it left in the first place are all but gone and since then the region’s population has grown by about 500,000. Downtown Vancouver, where the games would be played, is now home to nearly 100,000 people. The population is there to support both the NHL’s Canucks and the NBA. The corporate support will be there as well as many corporations can not get in with the Canucks as they are all tapped out.
