Most Canadians will have a memory of taking part in the Pepsi Taste Challenge, an iconic campaign that launched almost 40 years ago, challenging Canadians to let their taste buds decide. Since it was unveiled, more than nine million blind taste tests have been executed across the country and this summer Pepsi is bringing it back, bigger and better than ever. When the Pepsi team arrives in Vancouver this week, Vancouverites will get their first glimpse of the Pepsi Ultimate Taste Challenge, featuring cutting-edge technology that includes a transformer-like big–rig that opens into an interactive sampling and social media experience.
The Ultimate Taste Challenge uses Samsung SUR40 Table with Microsoft PixelSense™ technology, a touch screen platform that identifies objects — sort of like a table-sized touch screen tablet. This marks the first time SUR40 has been used in a campaign of this type in Canada and will likely be the first time many Vancouverites will get the opportunity to experience it.
The SUR40 Table allows up to six consumers to experience the Pepsi Ultimate Taste Challenge simultaneously and to conduct the challenge with their choice of three of the company’s biggest brands – Pepsi, Diet Pepsi and Pepsi MAX.
