Yesterday, travel website Big 7 announced Vancouver was the friendliest city in the world — and many were quick to disagree.
According to Big 7, Vancouver takes the top spot “thanks to its extraordinary friendly residents.”
“The city has an amazing multicultural community who band together to make visitors feel welcome and safe at all times. Locals are quick to offer assistance to tourists and the community vibe makes socializing in Vancouver simple.”
People took to social media to share their opinions about the ranking, pointing out they’ve had very different experiences in the city.
“Unfriendliest” you mean to say

How is this possible, people go out of their way to not even recognize you exist in this city

Born there and even though I like the place, i have to disagree on this!

Is this a joke?

haha I would believe this if I haven’t lived there for a year and wanted to move somewhere else, because I felt so lonely. It would be the most beautiful but not the friendliest at all. Any city in Europe is friendlier than Vancouver. 🙊

The surprised faces when I hold the door for the next people entering the building says otherwise…#Vancouver

Vancouver is friendly in comparison to many cities, absolutely.
However, it’s not even the friendliest city in Canada. That would be Calgary or Lethbridge or Moncton or Halifax. Strangers talk to you in those places.
Friendliest of the cities in the poll, maybe. https://t.co/daUK592Utz
