Richmond RCMP are investigating after an elderly pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on Monday night.
According to police, the incident took place just after 8 pm, when officers were called to the area of 8600-block of No.3 Road.
A Richmond resident in his 80s was crossing the road when he was struck, police said. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with police.

Now, the Richmond RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) has assumed conduct of the investigation, and police are asking the public for any assistance they’re able to provide in the investigation.

Police are also asking any drivers with dashcams who may have been in the area at the time are asked to review their footage and contact police if they think they might have something that could assist in the investigation.
