Pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle in Abbotsford

A man in his late 40s has passed away after being struck by a vehicle over the past weekend.

On Friday night, at approximately 11:30 pm, Emergency Services responded to a collision in the 36500 blocks of South Parallel Road in Abbotsford.

According to a police report, emergency service workers located a man in his late 40s who had been hit by a Honda Civic. He had already succumbed to his injuries by the time first responders arrived.

Police say the driver had reported the crash and attempted to give first aid to the pedestrian but was unsuccessful.

He remained on scene and is cooperating with police — he did not sustain any injuries.

Shortly after, members of the Abbotsford Police and Collision Reconstrucionalists took over the investigation.

The cause of the collision is undetermined at this point in time.
