Two lanes of Highway 99 southbound are closed in Richmond as police investigate a fatal collision involving a pedestrian.
The person walking was hit Saturday morning in the southbound section of the highway just north of Steveston Highway, according to a tweet from Richmond RCMP.
Local Richmond officers are helping Deas Island Traffic Services with the investigation. Police advised drivers to plan an alternate route and expect heavy delays.

According to DriveBC, the southbound traffic was being re-routed through the bus lane while the two traffic lanes were closed. They reopened around 12:30 pm.
