Pedestrian killed in garbage truck collision on Kingsway and Broadway

Vancouver Police are investigating a fatal collision on East Broadway in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood.

According to police, the incident occurred just before 9 a.m. this morning when a garbage truck hit a pedestrian. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area due to significant traffic disruptions. Police will remain at the site throughout much of the day to investigate the cause and circumstances of the fatal collision.
