Payfirma, a multi-channel payment platform allowing businesses to take payments in any way, is rapidly expanding and looking to hire for 30 positions with a job fair after receiving a $13 million funding round. The company recently doubled its workforce from 35 to 70 and aspires to be 100 strong by the end of the year.

Since its inception in 2010, Payfirma has developed Canada’s first mobile payment app, forged partnerships with CIBC, Apple, and the Vancouver Whitecaps FC, and garnered numerous industry awards. It was recently named a finalist in the Innotribe Startup Challenge alongside only one other North American growth-stage company and will compete at the SIBOS finale in October.

“There are a few key elements to look out for in a high-growth company: an industry-leading executive team with a visionary CEO, innovative product development, and a company attacking a huge market ripe for disruption,” says recently hired COO Yves Millette.

“Payfirma ticks off those boxes and then some.”

Millette is the former CEO of Intuit who led the company to the number one position in all its market shares, as well as to #2 on the list Great Places to Work in Canada. While overseeing Payfirma’s rapid growth phase, Millette will also assist in evolving its company culture. Payfirma prides itself on promoting from within, full benefits and an education allowance for employees, as well as quarterly staff events.

The company is looking for skilled workers who can enhance the company and accommodate the rapid growth they are foreseeing in the near future.

“We have an ambitious goal: to simplify payment acceptance and help companies increase sales,” said CEO Michael Gokturk.

“We’re looking for the best and brightest with the passion to contribute to the future of payments and help us deliver on our mission.”

Prior to founding Payfirma, Gokturk was CEO and founder of VersaPay, which was the fastest-growing company in Canada in 2009 and went public within three years.

The hiring fair will include free headshots for social media profiles, massages, beer tasting from Hoyne Brewing, ping pong and a few words from Michael Gokturk.

The 30 positions currently open are in Marketing, Product, Development, Customer Success and Finance. Attendees can enter for a chance to win a raffle for a grand prize basket of Payfirma goodies, including a GoPro and speakers.
