New co-working offices in Vancouver and Calgary to open with free space

Vancouver-based premium co-working office space company Pavilion Cowork will open two expansion locations later this year.

Currently, the company operates two co-working locations in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood of Vancouver, which opened in 2020.

They will open a third location in Summer 2025 at 900-564 Beatty St. — within a 10-storey building conveniently located immediately adjacent to SkyTrain’s Stadium-Chinatown Station in downtown Vancouver.

This unique 10-storey office building underwent a significant overhaul just over a decade ago, which restored its original heritage structure and provided a four-storey contemporary vertical office space expansion.

On the fifth level, Pavilion Stadium Beatty will have 5,500 sq. ft. of space with 18 private offices, 16 dedicated desks, and two meeting rooms.

Then in Fall 2025, Pavilion Courthouse 6 Avenue will open at 800-550 6th Ave. Southwest in downtown Calgary, with the building conveniently directly connected to the Plus 15 skywalk and just one block from a C-Train station.

This Calgary co-working space — Pavilion’s fourth location, and the first location outside of Vancouver — of nearly 15,000 sq. ft. will feature 47 private offices and four meeting rooms.

“We started Pavilion because we believe in the power of local businesses — when they thrive, our cities thrive. We’ve seen firsthand how the right space can spark ideas, partnerships, and real growth. With this expansion, we’re doubling down on our commitment to Canadian entrepreneurs, giving them the space and support to build something great,” said Herman Kwee, president of Alabaster Homes, the sister company to Pavilion, in a statement.

Alabaster Homes is best known for its townhome projects in Vancouver, but in recent years they have diversified and expanded into building and operating secured purpose-built rental housing, condominiums, and commercial spaces.

Pavilion is now expanding as they have exceeded capacity at their existing Vancouver locations, where they have served hundreds of members over the past five years. The company is also taking advantage of the current favourable market conditions for office leasing.

“Building a business is tough enough — you shouldn’t have to do it alone. We’ve designed Pavilion to be more than just office space; it’s a place where community is built, ideas take shape, and local businesses get the boost they need. With our expansion, we’re excited to welcome even more Canadian entrepreneurs into our community and help them take their businesses to the next level,” continued Kwee.

To mark the occasion of the expansions, Pavilion will relaunch its residency program of offering free office space for promising startups and scale-ups, including three free offices at Pavilion Stadium Beatty from July to October 2025 and eight free offices at Pavilion Courthouse 6 Avenue over a similar four-month period in Fall 2025.

Selected businesses will receive not only free office space, but also marketing support. Applications for the free office spaces are open until May 15 for Pavilion Stadium Beatty and July 31 for Pavilion Courthouse 6 Avenue.

In the past, the residency program has supported businesses such as Monos, Fable Home, and Blume.
