Patios in Vancouver: The Sandbar

Dec 19 2017, 3:29 pm

The Sandbar’s patio is a true gem of Granville Island. It is arguably the best dining spot in all of Granville Island because it offers unbeatable views of False Creek and Downtown Vancouver. Whether you’re looking to have a scrumptious brunch or a romantic dinner, The Sandbar can provide you with a waterfront dining experience that is exclusive to Vancouver. There is even Live Music playing every night of the week, so this is definitely the place to be if you are seeking a lively and refined atmosphere.

Congratulations to Executive Chef Will Tse of The Sandbar, for he has recently been crowned the BC Master Chef 2012! With his talent put into every dish, it’s guaranteed that you will only find the best and freshest here. Every morning, The Sandbar releases a new Fresh Sheet that indicates their finest offerings for the day.

The Sandbar serves a neat selection of fun appetizers that are easy to eat and share. From left to right: Dungeness Crab Cake, Seared Ahi Tuna, Seared Scallop and Pan Fried Potsticker.

Everyday, you can find a new selection of fresh B.C. oysters here. The Kusshi and the Kunamoto (MP) are some of my favourites.

The Sable Fish (MP) is a sweet and savoury dish that is an easy favourite for many. It is seared rare from the pan and then seasoned with soy and pickled ginger.

For a meatier and thicker fish, the Halibut (MP) is a great option. It is prepared on the wood burning grill and then flavoured with citrus butter sauce. It is still Halibut season for the time being, so get them while they’re fresh!

To end off your meal on a sweet note, the Belgian Chocolate Pudding ($8.50) is a real treat. It features a smooth and semi-sweet pudding that is topped off with toffee cream and pralines.

Another decadent dessert here is the classic Italian Crème Brûlée ($8.50) that comes with a yummy biscotti biscuit.

Thank you for reading; see you at my next food adventure!
