New details about party bus death released by Vancouver police

The Vancouver Police Department has released new details following the death of a young woman who fell off a party bus.

At around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, a party bus with 24 people celebrating a birthday on board was travelling through downtown Vancouver. As the bus turned south down Burrard street off of West Hastings, the 23-year-old woman fell out of an open door. She was struck by the bus as she fell.

Passengers alerted the driver who stopped the bus immediately, but the young woman was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The bus driver is cooperating with police who are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
