Do your part and "Keep Vancouver Spectacular"

Vancouver is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and, as Vancouverites, we all play a role in keeping it that way.

“Keep Vancouver Spectacular” is a series of programs that help reduce litter and support a healthy, vibrant and clean Vancouver.

By helping to clean up garbage, remove graffiti, and prevent dumping, it helps neighbourhoods and business districts remain vibrant and thriving.

Keep Vancouver Spectacular launched in 1996, and 1,500 volunteers participated in the inaugural year. Last year, 18,365 volunteers in 300 groups participated. This year, even higher turnout is expected, while Keep Vancouver Spectacular will also expand from cleanups in May to a year-round suite of programs including;

Neighbourhood Block Cleanup

The neighbourhood block cleanup is an opportunity for teams, groups and friends to get together and show their love for Vancouver by helping to clean up a neighbourhood with litter pick-ups and graffiti paint-outs.

Adopt-a-Block Program

The Adopt-a-Block Program empowers you to keep the neighbourhood block of your choice clean, safe, and attractive. Groups, businesses, and individuals can adopt a block.

Graffiti Paint Out and Free Paint programs

Apply for a free paint kit through the Free Paint Program to cover graffiti on your property. Or organize a community paint out with residents, businesses, schools and other community groups in your neighbourhood. Paint and materials are provided through the Graffiti Paint Out Program.

Outdoor Mural Program

If your property is a frequent graffiti target, consider installing a mural or wall art. Wall art is effective at deterring further graffiti vandalism, and helps to support vibrant public spaces and connect people and community through public art.
