Following the great success of Parallel Park on Main and 14th, a new form of on-street public seating has been installed this summer on Robson Street, just outside the sidewalk narrowing Café Crepe. This upcoming Parklet has a unique, urban, yet very natural design that provides a great resting spot on Robson.
Titled “Urban Pasture” is another trial project however, it may end up being permanent, just like Parallel Park on Main and 14th.
I’m sure there will be a few people complaining about the lost parking spots. I say good riddance, Robson Street needs a bit of a shake up and this is a good start. Next step would be to make Robson Square a true square, but don’t hold your breath, as that won’t be happen anytime soon.
