No Pants SkyTrain Ride Vancouver kicks off this weekend

Dec 19 2017, 5:21 pm

Vancouver’s 5th annual No Pants SkyTrain Ride takes place this weekend.

The “No Pants Subway Ride” is an annual global event started by Improv Everywhere in New York in 2002 (improveverywhere.com). It has existed for 13 years, and is happening all over the world.

If you’re participating, remember to not talk to others once you enter SkyTrain. No one knows each other.

Sit in the car and act as how you normally would. As soon as the doors shut, stand up and take your pants off and put them in your backpack. If anyone asks you why you’ve removed your pants, tell them that they were “getting uncomfortable” (or something along those lines).

Full route details will be explained on the day of the event.

No Pants SkyTrain Ride Vancouver 2014

Date: Sunday, January 12 at 4 p.m. (rain or shine)

Where: Commercial-Broadway SkyTrain Station, ground level on the South side of Broadway (opposite Shoppers).

What to bring: A backpack and paid fare/transit pass. Wear something appropriate.
The mission is to make people laugh, not piss them off.

Cost: Free! (remember to pay for your transit fare)

Notes: Over 100+ expected. Big, visible cameras can sometimes ruin the spontaneity/
fun of the event for the participants and the public. We encourage you to be
discreet and to interview people before or after the event.

Photo op: Immediately following to SkyTrain ride, all participants will be taking a group
photo with their pants off.
