One of the most familiar faces in B.C.’s broadcast news history thrilled fans with a recent appearance on Global News.
Former CTV News at Six and Global News Hour anchor Pamela Martin was a guest on the latter’s Sunday, Oct. 26 broadcast.
Martin was on the air as part of Global’s lead-up to celebrating 65 years on air in British Columbia, and she even took over the introduction at the start of the News Hour at 6.

“Just for fun… we also get her to read the intro for old times’ sake,” wrote Jordan Armstrong, current Global BC reporter and anchor, on X.
Martin’s broadcast journalism career stretches back to the mid-1970s when she was a co-host and producer at CHEK-TV and CKNW’s first female reporter.
She would begin working at BCTV (now Global BC) in 1977 and was an anchor at the station until 2001, when she moved to CTV British Columbia.
Martin would co-anchor the CTV News at Six alongside Bill Good until the end of 2010. Since then, she has worked as Director of Engagement for the Government of B.C., and regularly supports important causes like the Coast Mental Health Foundation, Pacific Autism Family Network, and the International Women’s Forum.
