The Pakistan Festival is coming to Holland Park in Surrey on Sunday, August 16, close to the day that marks Pakistan’s 68th birthday.
To celebrate Pakistan becoming a country on August 14, 1947, the Pakistani-Canadian community has organized a Pakistan Festival to showcase the cultural heritage, diversity, geography, music, dress, cuisine, customs and traditions of all corners of the nation.
The festival hopes to promote unity among cultures, and understanding between faiths. It aims to create dialogue and an appreciation for Pakistan’s unique culture.
Organizers of the festival say there are 15-18,000 people of Pakistani origin living in British Columbia.
