Help Pacific Blue Cross Share the Care with a $75,000 donation

In recognition of 75 years serving the people of British Columbia, Pacific Blue Cross is donating $75,000 dollars to charities across the province – and they want you to tell them who should get it.

The Share the Care campaign runs until December 6, and asks people to vote on the charity that should receive the generous $75,000 donation, from a list of five finalists.

Each of the five organizations produced a video, with a volunteer at the organizations speaking on the work they do and impact their work makes in the lives of others.

“I am so impressed with each one of the speakers the charities chose to represent their organizations,” says Worthington. “I think that they were wonderful spokespeople, and very genuine in how they feel about the role that their charities plays and the impact in makes in lives. For some of these people it can be lifesaving. I’m very proud and delighted to be able to support the work that they do.”

Worthington says that, due to their status as a not-for-profit, they’re able to do more for the community, something they are still extremely proud of 75 years later.

“One of the things I think that people don’t know about Pacific Blue Cross is that we are not-for-profit,” Heidi Worthington, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Pacific Blue Cross told Vancity Buzz. “One of the wonderful things about being not-for-profit is that we do not need to report, every quarter, our profitability to share holders and drive the coin down to the bottom. It allows us to participate more in our communities, and give back more to our communities.”
