Police forces in Metro Vancouver responded to three stabbing incidents on Friday night, with Vancouver Police investigating whether two East Vancouver incidents could be related.

At approximately 11 p.m., a young woman was injured in an altercation outside Fraserview Banquet Hall on Fraser Street near Southeast Marine Drive, CBC News reports. Two men allegedly attacked a woman with a machete while witnesses from a second floor balcony attempted to prevent the attack by throwing glasses at the men.

The men were not part of the engagement party and fled the scene in a grey Honda sedan. The woman was taken to hospital with injuries to her arm.

Moments later, another attack occurred outside a gas station at the intersection of Victoria Drive and East 49th Avenue, according to CBC. A man was taken to hospital after being stabbed and pepper sprayed by suspects in a vehicle that matched the description from the previous banquet hall incident.

Over in Burnaby, just before 11 p.m., Burnaby RCMP responded to reports of a fight at a birthday party held inside a fitness gym located near the 5500 block of Kingsway. According to CKNW, two men suffered non-life threatening injuries and two men have been arrested.
