Who says the Oscars just have to be for Hollywood A-listers and film buffs?
With the 92nd Academy Awards ceremony happening this Sunday, one Vancouver dog daycare is going into a four-legged frenzy, throwing an adorable weeklong party leading up to the event.
Jet Pet Resort in Vancouver’s Olympic Village is having its “2020 Pawscars Award ceremony” February 3 to 9.

And just like the glitzy red carpet show, this ceremony will have “party animals crashing the red carpet, diva tantrums and cute canines getting papped by the pupparazzi in the process.”

Doggie daycare guests will compete in high-stakes awards categories including the following:
- Best Dressed
- Best Actor & Supporting Actress
- Best Loaf
- Best Fluff
- Most Pawsitive
- Best Hairdo
- Best Singer
- Biggest Diva
- Best Cuddler
And watch your back, George Clooney: There’s also an award for #1 Silver Fox.
There will also be some rousing red carpet “Who wore it best?” faceoffs — the first being Christina Aguilera versus Peanut the Wiener Dog.
“We anticipate a few scandals on the run up to the ceremony as we have fierce competition going here!” said Lead Pet Specialist Laura Fox.
