Dec 19 2017, 6:44 pm

Expanding from its Yaletown location, Richmond has been selected as the newest location for the award-winning, boutique OPUS Hotel chain.

The OPUS Hotel Versante will be housed inside a new 12-storey building, becoming Richmond’s first ever boutique hotel – featuring 110 suites with all the OPUS signatures including spa bathrooms and an open-air lounge looking out onto Metro Vancouver.

Chinese fine-dining at the hotel’s restaurant promises to acknowledge the strong Asian presence in the municipality and across the region.

“The OPUS Hotel brand presents a vibrant and eclectic mix of people and place making the International Trade Centre development the ideal location for the next property,” said John deC. Evans, Founder and President of OPUS Hotel Corporation. “We are thrilled to be working with Michael Ching of MoYeung – the leader in merging innovative lifestyle brands with the bricks and mortar of development.”

The new hotel will be located at Bridgeport Road near No. 3 Road and is part of a larger overall future commercial development that is slated for the current site of the Richmond Night Market. The current first phase – the International Trade Centre – will also include two additional office towers and 34,000 square feet of luxury retail space.

The site is near the Canada Line’s Bridgeport Station and within minutes from Vancouver International Airport, the YVR Vancouver Airport Luxury Outlet (set to open in spring 2015), River Rock Casino Resort, and No. 3 Road shopping centres.

The opening date is scheduled for fall 2017.
