Vancitybuzz was invited last Thursday, to attend the Audi A7 lauch party, courtesy of the Open Road network of auto dealers. Armed with hors d’oeuvres, an open bar and a DJ spinning fat beats, the good people at Open Road Audi unveiled their newest entry in the premium sedan market. The A7 is a technological tour de force. The 300HP 6 Cylinder powerplant, mated to an 8 speed S-Tronic transmission will rocket 4 passengers from 0 to 60 in just under 5 seconds and a top speed of almost 300kph. The interior features fully integrated navigation assistance, multizone climate control and the coolest cupholder system this side of… well anywhere. It feels like your own personal starship.
While the A7 was the star of the show, Audi’s R8 Spyder, dominated the entrance and served as a demonstration of refined power coming from a 10 cylinder powerplant hiding 500 thoroughbred horses. Models posed for pictures with guests in front of the cars as bartenders and servers busily prepared a variety of tasty snacks and libations. The crowd was a mix of young up and comers and older, established individuals. Both groups however were familiar with the Audi brand and the driving experience it offers.
