After a man was shot and killed at a residence in Surrey, BC earlier this week, homicide investigators have now identified the victim as 18-year old Ontario resident, Keeshawn Brown.

According to police, the investigation began on December 23, at approximately 9:30 pm, when officers were called to the 2200 block of 152nd Street.

Upon their arrival, they found a deceased male with gunshot wounds inside the home.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took conduct of the case, and released the victim’s identity on Friday night to “to further the investigation and establish a timeline prior to his death.”

Police said at this point, they believe this incident was isolated and not connected to any Lower Mainland gang conflict.

Still, they are asking for anyone who may have information on the case to speak with them.

“Investigators are attempting to determine how long Mr. Brown has been in BC and his activities leading up to his death,” said IHIT Detective Lara Jansen. “We urge anyone who was with Mr. Brown or has information to assist investigators to contact IHIT.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email.

Those who wish to remain anonymous, can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or leave a tip online.
