Old Dutch Foods is recalling its Cheddar & Sour Cream Potato Chips – in the 66 gram and 225 gram sizes – from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination.
In a Food Recall Warnings and Allergy Alerts, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the products have been sold in Alberta, BC, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Northern Ontario. The 66 gram sizes (UPC: 0 66343 17941 4) have a best before date through February 24, 2017 while the 225 gram sizes (UPC: 0 66343 16783 1) have a best before date through March 2, 2017.
This recall was triggered by a recall in another country. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products. If other high-risk products are recalled, the CFIA will notify the public through updated Food Recall Warnings.
The CFIA is verifying that industry is removing recalled product from the marketplace.
So far, there have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
