Looking at the big picture, the Canucks have a great shot at being contenders if they add offence. No shit.
Currently, they have the #1 goalie in the world, the #4 defence in the league (behind Detroit, San Jose, Anaheim) but an offence in the bottom 10.
The ‘Nucks need to add 40 goals from last year to crack the top 5 in the league. Demitra and Bernier should replace Nazzy and Morrison’s output one-for-one, putting us back at square one. With $10 million to spend, Gillis can dramatically improve the team by adding offence *cough* Sundin.
If spent right, watch for the Canucks to be serious contenders next season.
