A popular suspension bridge in North Vancouver will soon be closed for several months for repairs.
According to a Facebook post from the District of North Vancouver earlier this week, the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge will close on Oct. 1 and remain closed for two to three months.
The repairs and improvements appear to be pretty extensive and will also impact parking in the area.
“The project also includes replacing the eastern boardwalk and staircase, repairing existing drainage and retaining walls, and removing local hazard trees. Temporary trail closures and the east Lynn Canyon parking lot closure will also be in effect,” the district said.
Other parts of the park will still be accessible to the public.
“Lynn Canyon Park will remain open during construction, with trail detour signs posted throughout the park. The work will also require periodic closures of the east parking lot (off Lillooet Road). For safety, park visitors are reminded to obey all signage and trail closures, and stay clear of work areas.”
While there’s no specific timeframe on when the bridge is expected to reopen, the district hopes it’ll be back up by mid-December.
