UPDATED: Man hospitalized after shooting in North Vancouver on Monday

A 22-year-old man is in hospital after being shot in North Vancouver Monday afternoon.

Around 3:30 pm, North Vancouver RCMP were called to the 880 block of East 12 Street for reports of shots fired.  

There, they found the victim– a North Vancouver resident – suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was taken to hospital, where he remains in serious – but stable condition.

The incident “appears to be a targeted shooting,” said North Vancouver RCMP Cpl. Richard De Jong. “There is no threat to public safety.”

The investigation is being conducted by the North Vancouver RCMP Investigative Services Section.

A black Nissan sedan was reportedly scene fleeing the crime scene and police are now asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect vehicle and the person responsible for the shooting.
