Have you lost rent money recently? No – not to your actual landlord. Maybe while you were out shopping in North Vancouver? Well, you may actually be able to get it back.

An envelope marked “rent money,” containing bills of various denominations, has been handed in to North Vancouver RCMP by a “very honest” resident.

Cpl. Richard De Jong said the resident found the envelope in a shopping cart at a local grocery store – but police aren’t saying where or how much money was found.

“Situations like this – when the person finding the money did what we hope someone would do for us – restores our faith in humanity,” said De Jong.

“If the rightful owner of the money comes forward and can name the location and the amount of money lost – the police would be happy to return the money to them.”

If you think the money may belong to you, call North Vancouver RCMP can be contacted at 604-985-1311. Please reference file #2017-28814.
