North Vancouver RCMP is looking for witnesses after someone was robbed at knifepoint.

According to a bulletin from North Vancouver RCMP, the incident took place on Dec. 17 at around 11:30 a.m near the intersection of Marine Drive and Fell Avenue.

RCMP said that it’s alleged that the victim was on the southwest corner of the intersection when a male suspect approached and produced a knife. RCMP says they then threatened the victim, demanding the victim’s phone.

“The victim ultimately complied, and the suspect fled the area on foot. The victim was not injured during the incident,” North Vancouver RCMP said.

After the incident, numerous officers flooded the area trying to find the suspect. Officers were eventually able to locate the suspect, who is still in police custody and facing charges of robbery.

“This was a frightening incident for the victim, and we are thankful that he was not hurt,” said Corporal Mansoor Sahak, media relations officer for the North Vancouver RCMP, in a statement.

“Through the investigation, we have determined there may be an additional victim who has not yet spoken with police. We are asking that person to come forward and provide a statement.”

RCMP is also looking for anyone who might have dash cam footage and was driving in the area at the time of the incident.
