Pedestrian dies after being hit by a possible impaired driver in North Vancouver

A North Vancouver man has died after he was struck by a Cadillac pickup truck last night.

Just before midnight on March 31, the 31-year-old was crossing the road at a marked crosswalk on 4th Street and Lonsdale Avenue when he was hit by a truck travelling north.

He was transported to Lions Gate Hospital where he later died, according to the North Vancouver RCMP.

The 48-year-old driver of the truck was arrested and is being investigated for impaired driving. He’s currently in police custody.

Police are reminding people to stay vigilant at crosswalks.
