TransLink bus driver crashes after medical emergency in North Vancouver

The North Vancouver RCMP has released some details relating to a scary incident involving a TransLink bus driver.

The incident took place on Tuesday morning, just before 10 a.m.

North Vancouver RCMP says that a serious collision occurred at the intersection of West 3rd Street and Mahon Avenue. RCMP says that according to info from witnesses, the bus driver experienced a medical emergency, causing the bus to collide with several parked vehicles and a tree.

While the bus was occupied during the collision, the RCMP says that no passengers were seriously injured.

“Our thoughts are with the bus driver as they receive medical care,” North Vancouver RCMP said.

The bus driver was transported to a hospital by BC Emergency Health Services and is receiving medical treatment. One passenger suffered minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital.

Following the collision, RCMP officers and Metro Vancouver Transit Police, along with paramedics, attended the scene.

“No further information regarding the driver’s condition will be released at this time to protect their privacy,” North Vancouver RCMP added.

“The RCMP is conducting a thorough investigation and working closely with partner agencies, including the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS), to determine the circumstances that led to this incident,” said North Vancouver RCMP Media Relations Officer Corporal Mansoor Sahak.
