
RCMP are on the lookout for a suspect after an alleged unprovoked attack in North Vancouver.
According to North Vancouver RCMP, who are currently seeking witnesses and dash-cam footage to aid in their investigation, a woman was waiting for a bus with her partner when a male suspect allegedly walked across the street and punched her in the face without provocation.
The incident occurred on Sept. 19, at around 5:30 a.m.

The alleged assault took place near the intersection of Marine Drive and Bewicke Avenue in North Vancouver. The female victim suffered injuries, but none that required hospitalization.
After the incident, North Vancouver RCMP officers embarked on “extensive patrols for the suspect” in the area. However, they were unsuccessful in locating him.
Officers also conducted an “extensive CCTV canvass” in the area.
The North Vancouver RCMP released a brief description of the suspect, who is described as five feet tall, thin-built, and wearing a gray hoodie with black jeans at the time of the attack. He is also described as having shoulder-length hair.
“This was a shocking and distressing incident for the victim, and we recognize the impact it can have on a person’s sense of safety,” said Corporal and Media Relations Officer for the North Vancouver RCMP, Mansoor Sahak.
“We are committed to identifying the suspect and are asking anyone who was in the area of Marine Drive and Bewicke Avenue between 5:15 a.m. and 5:45 a.m. on Sept. 19, or who may have relevant dash-cam or surveillance footage, to come forward.”
