Skill, speed, and style at North American Parkour Championships 2015

Dec 20 2017, 12:49 am

Come witness North America’s largest display of creative human physical achievement at the North American Parkour Championships 2015.

Now in its third year, the North American Parkour Championships host parkour practitioners from all across the world for a full day of explosive athleticism, broken down into three unique events: Skill, Speed, and Style.

At the Skill event, participants are judged for their execution of leaps and climbs by a panel of judges. Technique, confidence, landing; everything contributes to their ultimate score.

Speed will test the pure momentum of competitors, as they traverse two courses designed to physically and psychologically push them to their limit. Parkour was initially designed with economy of movement in mind, and the Speed event highlight that.

Style is where the imagination and skill of the athletes really shines. They’re given two separate courses – one to show off their best combination of moves and another to show of their one, big, signature move. Parkour practitioners are athletes, but they’re also artists, and the Style event gives them a chance to prove that.

This yearly event is a great opportunity to meet some of the biggest names in parkour: spend your weekend observing one of the fastest growing sports in the world.
