Canada's largest Nordstrom to open in Vancouver

Earlier today (Septemer 13, 2012) we told you about Nordstrom’s pending Canadian arrival. Well it looks like the earliest store will not open until 2014 in Calgary. Vancouver will be third in line and will have the largest Nordstrom in Canada.  The company is partnering with Cadillac Fairview, one of North America’s largest investors, owners and managers of commercial real estate, to lease four stores at premier shopping centres located in Calgary, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver.

Nordstrom will be moving into space that will be vacated by Sears and then renovated at Pacific Centre in Vancouver, Calgary’s Chinook Centre, Rideau Centre in Ottawa, with a new-construction store opening in Toronto’s Sherway Gardens. They also announced plans of bring Nordstrom Rack to Canada soon. Look for either a downtown Vancouver location or at Oakridge Centre mall.

Nordstrom Vancouver Plans

  • Tentative opening date is set for spring of 2015. Yes you’ll have to wait almost three years
  • It will be 3 floors and approximately 230,000 square feet
  • It will be the Canadian Flagship store and the largest in Canada
  • Nordstrom is also rumoured to opening their Canadian head office on the upper floors of the old Sears Building
  • The building will look like the one pictured above

Nordstrom Calgary

  • Fall of 2014
  • two levels, approximately 140,000 square feet
  • Chinook Centre Mall

Nordstrom Ottawa

  • two levels, approximately 157,000 square feet
  • Rideau Centre
  • Spring 2015
