Nordstrom Vancouver flagship hiring across all departments

Nordstrom is continuing to hire people for their new flagship store in Pacific Centre.

Back in May, the company announced they were hiring for 1,000 positions, and while they’re filling up fast, they still need professional people with a passion for fashion.

And it’s not just sales people – they need hair stylists for their Blow-Out Bar, nail technicians for their Style Bar, tailors, a concierge and visual stylists.

A full list of available positions are available on the company’s website. Prior retail experience isn’t necessary.

Twenty-seven managers have been hired and trained in Seattle and are working closely with a mentor manager.

For the Pacific Centre store, wages have not been made public but the release notes that all employees will have dental, medical and vision benefit options, a RRSP matching program and a minimum 20 per cent retail discount.

The company’s compensation is unparalleled in the retail industry with workers earning wages and receiving benefits far higher than the standard found at other retailers.

“Nordstrom is a great place to build a career, something I’ve experienced firsthand over the course of my 23 years with the company,” Chris Wanlass, store manager for Nordstrom Pacific Centre, said in a statement.

“This is our third store in Canada, so it’s an exciting time to be a part of Nordstrom and get in on the ground floor as we continue our growth across the country.”

The 230,000-square-foot Nordstrom store is nearing completion and scheduled to open on September 18.
